Who are we?
Founded in 1884 as the first conservatory for actors in the English-speaking world, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts has consistently focused on a single mission: Training the best and brightest students from around the globe to become highly skilled, confident, well-rounded actors. The Academy’s innovative training inspires creativity and imagination while exploring respected techniques under the guidance of our esteemed faculty, directors and industry experts.

We gather personally identifiable information when completing and filling out the application and requests for information through our promotions and password-protected areas of this Site. We collect only personal information that you provide to us such as: name, address, phone number, email address, and responses to specific questions. We may also record the types of product/resource information you have requested on the Site. Our site is meant for those 13 or older. Who can see my data?
For our users’ protection and privacy, only required roles and permissions at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts have access to necessary user data. We’ve designed our systems to limit the number of employees that have access to user data and to actively monitor the activities of those employees. AADA employees are only granted a limited set of default permissions to access company resources. AADA follows a formal process to grant or revoke employee access to AADA resources, and access is automatically removed for departing employees. Access authorization is enforced at all relevant layers of the system. An employee's authorization settings are used to control access to all resources, including data. Access is monitored by our dedicated security teams as a check on the effectiveness of our controls. The security teams actively monitor access patterns and investigate unusual events.
How are "Contact Us" emails treated?
We use "Contact Us" forms to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We read every message sent in and try to reply promptly to each one. This information is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may also file your comments to improve the website.
Can I opt out of receiving communications from AADA.edu?
Yes. If you do not wish to receive email communications please contact us and ask to opt out of communications from The Academy. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Can I delete my Academy Account?
Yes. If you wish to delete your Academy Account please contact us. You may also make this request by calling 800-463-8990.
How long do you store my data?
We store user data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. AADA will continue to comply with GDPR requirements. In order to best serve users, AADA will continue to store users data, unless requested otherwise.
How will AADA.edu respond in the event of a data breach?
As a GDPR-compliant (General Data Protection Regulation) organization, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts will report any personal data breaches that adversely affect individuals’ rights and freedoms to the appropriate authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.CCPA Guidelines
Although we are a non-profit organization and exempt from complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), we strive to operate in accordance with the CCPA’s requirements for protecting consumers’ personal information and privacy.
